Robinson likely to transfer

Sophomore guard Calaen Robinson is expected to transfer from Arizona State according to multiple sources directly familiar with the development.
Robinson, a 6-foot-2 190-pounder who played his prep career in Tempe at Corona del Sol High School, will look primarily at Division I opportunities.

In such a scenario Robinson would be forced to sit out the 2014-15 season and then have as many as two seasons to play assuming he's on pace to graduate with 80 percent of his coursework complete following his fourth year of college.
Another possible scenario for Robinson would be to play next season at junior college before moving back up to the Division I level.
Robinson averaged 6.2 minutes per game in 20 games for ASU in 2013-14, often backing up starting point guard Jahii Carson, and averaged 1.6 points, 1.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists.
After leading Corona del Sol to a 32-1 record and Division I state title as a senior in the 2011-12 season, Robinson was forced to sit out his freshman year at ASU due to an undisclosed on campus incident. As a result, he played last season as a sophomore but one with the ability to earn back that year of eligibility.
The Sun Devils signed Rivals150 high school point guard Tra Holder out of Brentwood, Calif., and California Community College Athletic Association junior college player of the year Gerry Blakes out of San Bernardino Valley College. The 6-foot-4 Blakes is versatile enough to play three positions including point guard.
