Favorite hobby: Guitar. I've been doing it about a year.
Role model: My role model would probably be Anthony Davis, right tackle for the 49ers. I've had coaches say the way I play is kind of modeled after him and I've been watching him for a while.
Best sports memory: Beating De La Salle last year in the state championship. It felt like a dream come true. Even though it was only high school that was up to now the greatest day of my life. It was an amazing feeling.
On the first time he knew he was good enough to play at the next level: I think that was when I came into this league (as a junior) and was able to go up against a lot of guys with offers and do really well against them.
On moving to ASU and being on his own: I'm happy to go somewhere that is far enough but not too far from my family. I know going away will at least speed up the process of growing up faster. I think it will help me become a man a little quicker and definitely am up for the challenges I'm going to face for the next four years. I'm very excited and just happy to be able to have this opportunity.
Why ASU: Arizona State, I think the biggest thing was the loyalty and I've always thought about in my recruitment the idea of going to a place where you're celebrated and not tolerated. Arizona State has celebrated me since they offered me. People at my church say that ASU coaches really show how much they want me. They've been at my school helping me with getting everything situated with academics. They've been the No. 1 school as far as how much they've done and how hard they've worked. And when I went to the Notre Dame game on my official, it gave my chills coming out of the tunnel and the fireworks and everything, just gave me chills.
On his goals for next season: Right now just getting my spring workout in and getting in the best shape I can to come in my first year and try to make an early impact and hopefully start by the end of my freshman season. I'm trying to be the true freshman people told me I can be and I know I can be.
On his signing day plans: I'm going to go to school at about 7:45 and national signing day is at 8:00 and just sign and turn the fax over and just enjoy the rest of the day and then start working.
