Nevarro Junior College (Texas) freshman William McGehee didn't start his football career in earnest until his senior year of high school. Two years later, he received a scholarship offer from Arizona State. McGehee, who still has plenty of raw talent, will have four years to play three seasons at ASU.

He's also an incredibly strong Christian and he shows me how to live my life that way. He's a great man to look to for how to be a father and just all that."
Best sports memory: "Winning state my senior year at Prestonwood (Christian Academy)."
On the first time he knew he was good enough to play at the next level: "Probably a couple weeks into football (senior year of high school). I just started to have a better game and more people, like friends and stuff, sounded more confident in me and it made me realize that I actually have a chance to play college football."
On moving to ASU and being on his own: "I'm excited about it. Being at Navarro College I've been living on my own out here, but I'm excited to move out to ASU and get with the coaching staff. I really like what (ASU coach Todd Graham's) going to do and everything that he's been setting up and just looking forward to living out there. Not much of a change of weather, but a little hotter; a little dry."
Why ASU: "I really liked when I went out there to visit. Coach (Bob) Connelly, he realizes that since I've only played a couple years, he realizes that I'm still what people think is raw talent. He realizes that he can help me and mold me into the athlete that can really help ASU. And I liked just what coach Graham is going to do with the program. I believe we'll be able to win a national championship, hopefully."
On his goals for next season: "To start."
On his signing day plans: "I'll most likely drive back home and do it with my family."
