Five-Star WR shatters backboard, makes national headlines

It doesn't take long to see the pure athletic prowess of Arizona State commit and 5-star wide receiver N'Keal Harry on the football field.
The two-sport star earned national attention Tuesday night, but not for his 32-point performance.

Instead, it was a
backboard-shattering dunk that earned him the SportsCenter "Top Play of the Day" on ESPN.
Harry is averaging 19 points and 9.4 rebounds per game for the Wolves this season, including his dominant performance Tuesday.
While ASU men's basketball coach Bobby Hurley may not be barging down doors trying to get Harry on the roster once he gets to Tempe, the slam certainly is a demonstration of Harry's physicality and athleticism he will bring to the wide receiver position.
One player currently on the ASU roster has seen the athletic ability of Harry firsthand - freshman quarterback Bryce Perkins, who was Harry's teammate on both the football field and basketball court last season.
He knew.
"Oh man, you're going to ask about the N'Keal play, right?" Perkins asked as media members approached Wednesday. "I knew it!"
It's not the first time N'Keal has drawn the attention of Perkins and others.
"N'Keal is a freak of nature, but seeing that last night I - he's got some power to his dunks," Perkins said. "Of course I loosened it up a little bit for him to break it a bit, but I'm not going to take too much credit for it. That dunk last night was vicious."
Perkins was not one of those in attendance, but watched as the slam quickly went viral.
First it was Worldstar. Then it was the local news. Next, national blogs.
Finally, it made it all the way to the mac-daddy of them all - ESPN.
"When I first saw the video, I didn't know if he broke the glass or not," Perkins said. "Then I kept looking and I was like, 'Wow, the glass really broke off that (dunk).' I was just in shock, and then all I saw was N'Keal, N'Keal, N'Keal and it was cool since you saw it on SportsCenter and Worldstar Hip-Hop so that definitely put Chandler on."
Perkins, a former 3-star prospect himself who averaged 12.6 points and seven rebounds per game last season, said he still thinks there's a competition to be had between the two to see who is the better dunker.
"Typically I got more bunnies than him," Perkins said. "I did last year, but he probably got me this year because he's definitely stronger. I'd never admit that to him, because I got a little bounce to my step too. We'd have to get in the gym."
