Stephen Omorogbe talks ASU visit

Stephen Omorogbe had high expectations for his unofficial visit to Tempe, and his experience on that trip did anything but disappoint the River Ridge (Ga.) athlete. .
"I absolutely loved my visit," Omorogbe said. "I don't think there is anything that could have made it better. It was great seeing the players work out so hard, everything was done with a purpose. They weren't just running to run and lifting just to lift. Everything was position specific and was just amazing and the thing that impressed me the most.

"It was great seeing the football facilities, and the coaches had a lot of great things to say about the school. I already did a lot of research on Arizona State before my visit, but to hear it from Coach Graham himself was great. They obviously had a great season last year and he talked about how they were going to take the next step, and I believe in that system because it works."
Omorogbe added that the Barrett Honors College left a big impression on him ("it's basically a college within a college") since it can offer an even higher level of education.
The 6-3 238-pound Omorogbe is listed as a tight prospect on Rivals' 2016 database, but said that the ASU coaches view him as a Devil backer, a proposition that greatly appeals to him.
"Coach Graham and Coach Patterson showed me how much their defense is an attacking defense and how they always show pressure," Omorogbe described. "Playing the Devil backer in that type of defense would be amazing - sacks and tackles for losses all day long. They showed me all the (defensive) stats they had, so it's awesome seeing how much of an attacking and pressure base this defense is."
Omorogbe stated that the ASU coaches were very impressed by him and commented that they would track him during his senior year as they consider him for a scholarship offer.
"This year my high school wants me to play that outside linebacker/defensive end position along with tight end," Omorogbe said. "So that's good that the (ASU) coaches will get to see me play there. I should hear something from them in September."
When asked which other schools he is seriously considering at this time, Omorogbe simply answered: "Arizona State." And added that "It's pretty much my dream school. A lot of us in Georgia dream about playing for a Pac-12 school. I saw Arizona State and I've seen all I need to see. It's a great time to be at that school and it's a great place to be at."
