ASU's offensive line returns fully intact this season with two seniors anchoring the interior of the line. Senior right guard Regis Crawford is back at his sophomore year position where he was a more dominant force for the Sun Devils. Crawford is the remaining player from the offensive line that sent four of five players onto NFL rosters in the 2002 draft. Crawford was a sophomore at the time and showed great promise.

With Crawford being the only returning player with any experience he was moved to the left tackle position in charge of protecting the quarterback's blind side. Crawford performed decently last season at his new position but it was evident where his strength was, along the interior. With Crawford returning to right guard for his senior season things will be much more organized and in place along the Sun Devil offensive front. Teaming with junior Drew Hodgdon at center and senior Tim Fa'aita at left guard the interior of the offensive line is the strongest and most experienced group of players anywhere on the offense.
The key focus for Crawford will be going out this season with a bang and possibly getting a shot at the NFL. One way to help his standing would be to help an ASU runningback achieve a 1,000 yard rushing season. There is little doubt that the senior Crawford back at his more natural position is the top offensive lineman on the team. The senior has started or played in 33 games during his Sun Devil career and is a candidate for post-season honors. He has played every position the line and his strength would be his versatility and athleticism.
Crawford measure 6-foot-3 305-pounds and posesses the speed to get out on pulling plays and down the field on screen plays. He is the most versatile lineman on the team and his senior leadership will be invaluable in helping groom the next generation of Sun Devil linemen. Crawford has more than paid his dues and a Sun Devil hog and will go down as one of the most durable offensive linemen in Sun Devil history. Crawford's achievements for the Sun Devils with his leadership and work ethic will go along way in helping the Sun Devils achieve their goals in the 2003 season.
