Two Arizona State starters are expected to miss the team's MAACO Las Vegas Bowl game Thursday against Boise State due to disciplinary reasons.
Junior return specialist/receiver Jamal Miles missed practice Sunday and is unlikely to play against Boise State this week due to a team rules violation a source said, and sophomore defensive end Junior Onyeali did not make the trip after a verbal altercation with coach Dennis Erickson early in Monday's practice.
ASU's team flight to Las Vegas departed early Monday afternoon. Onyeali did not make the trip has has been suspended through the game by Erickson. It was not immediately clear if Miles traveled with the team.
Miles is sixth in the Pac-12 with 134.8 all-purpose yards per game and second in kickoff return average at 26.3 yards per attempt with two touchdowns.
In 12 games played this season, Miles has 60 catches for 361 yards and six touchdowns and 29 carries for 237 yards.
Miles has also returned 14 punts for 232 yards and one touchdown and threw for a touchdown on his one passing attempt of the season, a trick play.
Onyeali has 11 tackles including 3.5 for loss with one sack in eight games this season after earning Rivals.com Freshman All-American honors last season when he had 11.5 tackles for loss with 6.5 sacks.
Onyeali was injured on the first play from scrimmage at Illinois early this season and missed the next four games. When he returned, he'd gained weight and loss explosiveness due to that and the injury and was largely ineffective the rest in the team's final five regular season games.
