Best sports memory: "I really don't have one but maybe my freshman year in football when I was leveling just everyone."
On the first time he knew he was good enough to play at the next level: "I didn't honestly know when I was younger, a lot of kids start of playing at an early age. I didn't really start until high school. I had all kinds of people telling me I could play Division I and stuff like that and I just figured I'd try my best and see what happens."
On moving to ASU and being on his own: "It's a whole new beginning pretty much. I just want to take advantage of it and have it be the best time of my life, all four or five years. I just want to have fun and do my thing on the football field and hopefully make it to the pros but not everybody does."
Why ASU: "I want to stay close to my family and I like coach Erickson. He's a players' person and I like how he develops guys."
On his goals for his freshman season: "Redshirting is a definite possibility because I
want to make sure I don't waste a year with my (shoulder) surgery. I'm going to be out like six months tota. I've got to get big and stuff and get ready to play with some of these bigger guys. I want to get bigger and stronger and stay on top of my grades."
On his signing day plans: "My mom and step-dad will come with me to Majerle's in Chandler to the signing thing and then we'll probably go out to lunch or dinner or something like that."
