Arnold Makes His Call

The Beavers have added talented playmaker Brandon Arnold to their list of commitments as the 6-0, 183 pound safety decided to end his recruitment and commit to Oregon State on Monday. The Encino (Calif.) Crespi defensive back held double-digit offers from around the PAC 12 and Big 12.

"It is just an all-around good program," Arnold told BeaverBlitz.com on Monday afternoon. "I'm most likely done with my recruitment as I believe that if you commit that means something."

Arnold made his official visit to Corvallis a little over a week ago and was able to take in the game against ASU. The community and game made a big impact on him.

"It is a real good school and the stadium was live," Arnold said. "The fans were just amazing and I just fell in love with it. It is 100% a college football school and town."

The final decision came down to Cal and Oregon State, but the Beavers pulled away after the visit.

"I feel like I really fit into their defense, especially with all of the dime packages that they ran," he said. "I play downhill and my strength is reading the tackles, guards and tight ends to determine whether I go downhill or not. I also feel that a strength is my ability to read quarterbacks too."

Arnold said that he has a couple of friends that he is talking to Oregon State about and hopes to help recruit more future teammates to play in Corvallis with him.

The 2013 prospect said that he is fully qualified, but that his Dad signed him up to take the SAT and ACT one more time just to be safe. He is looking at studying Business or Sports Law at Oregon State.
