Robinson recognizing his potential
Four-star offensive tackle Damien Robinson now has more scholarship offers than he can keep track of.
But there is one offer that the massive 6-foot-8, 330-pounder from Olive Branch, Miss., will never forget. Robinson's first offer from Mississippi State back in September opened his eyes and has had him striving to be the best that he can possibly be.
"Me and my mom felt proud because because (Mississippi State) knew that I had talent," Robinson said. "Before then I didn't realize my potential and still don't but it felt like all that hard work since seventh grade up until that point, that first scholarship, it just seemed like now all that work has come into play."
Since his first offer from the Bulldogs, Robinson had picked up offers from the likes of Alabama, UAB, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Ole Miss, North Carolina, Southern Miss and others. Robinson said many of those offers have come since the conclusion of the school year.
"I've been surprised at all the attention that I'm getting," Robinson said. "When my junior year ended I maybe had three offers. After the school year three turned to five, five turned to 10 and 10 turned to 15. Everybody started calling me and I was just like 'where is all this coming from?'. It was kinda scary at the moment but I am just trying to take it slow."
But Robinson insists that currently he has no favorites and everyone is even in his eyes.
