Benedict talks interesting visit to UGA

Georgia offered 2010 offensive tackle Brent Benedict earlier this fall and he paid Athens a visit over the weekend. He had visited UGA back in the summer, but it was his first visit for a game. The Dawgs lost, but the talented junior still liked what he saw.

"It was raining and Georgia Tech ended with the upper hand, but I saw the facilities, I talked to the Georgia coaches, and I got to see how a team reacts after a loss," said Benedict.

"I found seeing how Georgia acted after losing the game very interesting. It was my first time seeing that and even though it was a negative thing for the team, it was a good thing for me. Georgia was quiet in the locker room and then Richt gave the team a speech. It was very interesting."

The speech that Mark Richt gave his team after the loss was a speech very similar to one Benedict had heard before.

"Coach Richt told the team to remember this feeling and my coach told us that last year. We lost to South Sumter last year like this and he told us that same thing; this year we beat them 57-7 and we definitely remembered that feeling. I think Georgia will remember it too."

Other than watching the Bulldogs fall to the Yellow Jackets, the Jacksonville (FL) native got to see some of the campus and talk with the coaches.
