Friday Night Notes

Georgia commitment Chase Vasser was one of the many prospects we had our eyes on Friday night. We were all over the state taking a look at many of the top prospects in Georgia as well as a few out of Florida and South Carolina.

We had cameras in four different locations Friday night for five games loaded with top talent. Before Friday, we covered a top junior on Thursday night in Macon and we will start there.

Game One: Windsor Forest @ Tattnall Square Academy

Tattnall Square Academy kicked a field goal early in the game and never looked back. The final was 20-7 and they controlled the game from the start.

The top prospect on the field without question was 2010 athlete DeAndre Smelter of TSA. Smelter is close to 6-feet 3-inches tall and he weighs 210 pounds. He is arguably the best athlete in the school as he shines on the basketball court and baseball diamond like he does on the football field.

He finished unofficially with nine tackles on defense and two catches on offense with one going for a 33 yard touchdown.

Smelter did make plays and he led his team to win while lining up at safety, wide receiver, and running back in the season opener. He played hard and he did everything for the Trojans. He showed great tackling ability, he wrapped well all game, and he took his physical play to the offensive side of the ball where he laid out a few blocks.
