Decker makes the switch

As word started making its way out on Friday morning that four-star Vandalia (Ohio) Butler offensive tackle Taylor Decker would be making an official visit to Ohio State, many anticipated a possible switch from Notre Dame to the Buckeyes. On Sunday afternoon, that is exactly what happened as the 6-foot-8, 310-pound prospect confirmed with BuckeyeGrove.com that is the latest member of the 2012 Ohio State recruiting class.

"Yes I have committed to Ohio State," Decker said via text.

Decker had been committed to Notre Dame since the Spring and had not been pursued by Ohio State since his commitment until new head coach Urban Meyer took over. The combination of Meyer's persistence and the move of Notre Dame assistants Ed Warinner and Tim Hinton to Ohio State were the two of the major factors in Decker's decision to switch to the Buckeyes.
