Search firm executive Hughes helping ASU
Arizona State had retained the services of executive search firm Korn/Ferry International and its Vice Chairman Jed Hughes to find and identify the candidate pool school President Michael Crow will choose the school's next head athletics administrator from, ASUDevils.com has learned.
This is a different firm than ASU used in its search for head football coach Todd Graham, Eastman and Beaudine.
Korn/Kerry is a multinational publicly traded company with 80 offices and 3,200 employees operating on four continents.
Hughes worked for another international search firm prior to his current job and in his career he's been responsible for placing Larry Scott in his role as the Pac-12 Commissioner, Mark Murphy as CEO of the Green Bay Packers and Brady Hoke as football coach at Michigan.
Several sources close to the development said Hughes has already identified several potential candidates who will be further vetted and considered for the job.
Hughes has also contracted with the US Olympic Committee, PGA, LPGA, multiple NFL franchises and a host of others. He is currently building the pool of candidates Crow and ASU will consider.
ASU has no official timetable to replace former athletic director Steve Patterson, who is expected to spent 1-2 weeks helping Crow and the department transition before moving to assimilate at Texas.
